Audio and Chroma Recording Studio Inaugurated at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya

Bhubaneswar, 31st August, 2025ଛ A state-of-the-art Audio and Chroma Recording Studio was inaugurated today at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Shri Suryabanshi Suraj. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, “The newly established Audio and Chroma Recording Studio at Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya is dedicated to the promotion of Odisha’s rich traditions in music, dance and theatre. This modern facility will greatly benefit our artistes and contribute towards showcasing Odisha’s glorious cultural heritage to the world. The Culture Department will soon release a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for its use, enabling both government programmes and private institutions to access it. With its advanced features, the studio will play a pivotal role in popularising Odisha’s art and culture while serving the needs of the public.”
On this occasion, Shri Suraj also witnessed the recording of an Odissi dance performance at the Chroma Studio. He later visited the Classical and Folk Instruments Museum housed within the campus and encouraged students of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya to work towards enriching the literary, musical, dance and folk traditions of Odisha. Shri Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya, Secretary, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department, Dr. Bijay Kumar Jena, Principal of Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Eminent Odissi dancers Aruna Mohanty, Sujata Mohapatra, Ileana Citaristi, Odia Actor Shri Asrumochan Mohanty, Pragyan Ranjan Khatua and several leading artistes from the fields of dance, music and folk art were present in the event.
