Jr.Clerk nabbed by Vigilance while taking bribe for clearing his pending loan bills

13.08.2025,Kendrapada:Odisha Vigilance nabbed a Jr.Clerk of Offife of the Block Educaation Officer, Mhakalapada of Kendrapadaa District while demanding and taking bribe of Rs 15,000/- from a Complainant (Head Master) for processing of final installment of Housing Loan amounting to Rs.6.20 Lakhs as well as for clearing his pending salary, and TA bills etc. Accused Sri Lenka was delaying for no reason to process file and prepare bills for aforementioned dues for release in favour of the complt. On the other hand, Sri Lenka was demanding bribe Rs 15, 000/- from the complt and refused to clear his pending bills unless he was paid the demanded bribe. Finding no other way, complt reported the matter to Vigilance authorities alleging harassment by Sri Lenka, Jr. Clerk. Acting upon complaint’s allegation, Vigilance Officers nabbed Sri Lenka, Jr.clerk today while taking bribe Rs 15,000/- from the complt at Canal Road, Marshaghai. The entire tainted bribe money Rs.15,000/- has been recovered from exclusive possession of Sri Lenka and seized. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations linked to Sri Lenka from DA angle.In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.21 dated 12.08.2025, U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Lenka, Jr. Clerk. Detailed report follows.
