Bhubaneswar, January 28, 2026: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday condoled the demise of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash, saying his untimely death is an irreparable loss. “The news of the untimely demise of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Shri Ajit Pawar ji in an aeroplane accident is extremely heartbreaking. Shri Pawar ji was a dynamic politician and a dedicated public servant. In this hour of profound grief, I express my condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues, and the people of Maharashtra,” he said in a statement. The Mumbai-Baramati charter aircraft crash landed at around 8.45 am at the runway threshold of the Baramati airstrip in Maharashtra. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, all five people on board lost their lives in the incident.
