Bhubaneswar- Sep,19:On the 18th day of the ongoing Enforcement Special Drive, authorities intensified their crackdown on illegal trade, leading to significant seizures across the State. Contraband worth ₹1.60 crore was seized in the latest operations. A total of 254 cases were detected, resulting in the arrest of 153 persons involved in various illicit activities. Enforcement teams seized 10,606 bulk litres of ID liquor, 603 bulk litres of duty-paid liquor, 11 litres of duplicate liquor, and destroyed over 1,07,523 litres of wash used in illicit distillation. In addition, 20 vehicles engaged in illegal transportation were seized.The drive also struck a major blow against narcotics, with 13 NDPS cases registered. During these operations, officers recovered 163 kilograms of ganja and 245 grams of heroin, further underlining the commitment to curb drug-related offences.The Special Drive continues with a focus on dismantling networks involved in liquor and narcotics smuggling, ensuring strong deterrence against such illegal activities.
