Traffic Restrictions Announced for Republic Day Parade 2026

Bhubaneswar,22/01/2026: Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack announced traffic restrictions and diversions for the State Level Republic Day Parade 2026 on Mahatma Gandhi Marg and nearby areas. The restrictions will remain in force during rehearsals on January 22 and 23 from 1 PM to 6 PM, on January 24 from 6 AM to 11.30 AM, and on January 26 from 6 AM until the completion of the parade.

Heavy vehicles movement from Master Canteen Square to Ram Mandir or Rajmahal route is prohibited. Two-wheelers and light motor vehicles can move from the Rajmahal side to the Ram Mandir side through Master Canteen Square. Vehicles cannot proceed towards PMG Square from Master Canteen Square during the parade. Traffic diversions include rerouting vehicles from the Housing Board side at Keshari Talkies crossing, diverting vehicles from AG Square at Jaydev Bhawan Square towards IDCOL Auditorium, and directing vehicles from 120 Bn. Square towards Unit-IV at MLA Colony crossing. All lanes connecting Mahatma Gandhi Marg will remain sealed, allowing only pedestrians.

Designated parking places include BDA Bus Stand near Railway Station, open space in front of Congress Bhawan, IDCOL Auditorium, Jaydev Bhawan, SBI Unit-III, Rabindra Mandap, and Unit-II Girls’ High School Ground. Authorities also banned the sale of gas balloons between PMG Square and Master Canteen Square on January 26 from 6 AM until the parade concludes. Violation of this order constitutes an offence under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act 2003.Commissionerate Police urged citizens to plan their travel routes accordingly and cooperate to ensure the smooth conduct of the Republic Day Parade 2026
